About The Little Ones Preschool
With our progressive and holistic early childhood education philosophy, we understand that each child has unique needs and interests. We provide the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities.
When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Once they leave The Little Ones Preschool, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
WELCOME
Welcome to the Little Ones Preschool. We are a private, Nonprofit Institution licensed by the State of New Jersey, serving families in East Orange and surrounding communities. Our objective is to provide a facility where children can learn in a happy and safe environment. The Primary education goals are to insure that children acquire "readniess" skills and build a strong foundation for future learning.
Mission Statement
From language and literacy development to social skills and creative expression, the children at The Little Ones Preschool are constantly being exposed to new activities and environments in which to thrive. What We Offer
Infant and Toddler Program
The Infant and Toddler center is open throughout the year. We accept children as early as 6 months. Our Children are cared for by certified staff and are engaged in developmentally appropriate activities.
Preschool
The Little Ones offers a comprehensive preschool education for children ages 3 and 4. We currently use the Creative Curriculum which helps to build a foundation for academic success. The program is operated all year round. We also provide breakfast, lunch, and snack to all of our students
Afterschool
Our After School Program provides special activities for children ages 5-13. The program offers transportation from neighborhood schools to The Little Ones Preschool daily. Services are available during Christmas and Spring Break. Students complete homework assignments and participate in arts and crafts, tutoring, computer labs, and recreational activities. An afternoon meal will also be provided.
Special Programs and
Summer Camp
During the school year The Little Ones frequently offers programs and events in order to get the community and our parents involved in the education of our children. We have workshops, field trips, and a variety of events that encourage cultural and educational awareness. We also Offer a camp for both the Little Ones and Camp Friendship. Children will have the opportunity to go on a variety of field trips. All activites are supervised and monitored by our well trained staff
Meet the Director
Our Director Joan C. Gorham has more than 30 years of experience as an educator. She graduated with a BA in Elementary Education, from Kean University and has a Master's Degree in Education from Rutgers University. Her enthusiasm, determination and expertise ave been the driving force behind the success of The Little Ones Preschool. She not only serves as a positive role model for her students, but she is well respected and admired by her employees, parents and the education community.
